Senate Resolution 190 (Gordner) designates the week of October 21
through 27, 2007 as "Respiratory Care Week" in Pennsylvania and commends
respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to health care.
Adopted: 49-0.
Senate Resolution 198 (Greenleaf) declares October 21 through 27, 2007
as "Juvenile Detention Centers Week" in Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice
Vote.

Senate Resolution 200

House Bill 1166 (Shapiro) would designate State Route 2024, known as
Dreshertown Road, in Montgomery County, Upper Dublin Township, between Route
63, Welsh Road and Route 152, North Limekiln Pike as the Sergeant James R.
Miller Memorial Highway. Sergeant Miller served on the Upper Dublin Police
Department for 28 years and died in an automobile accident at the age of 55
while on duty on April 20, 2004. Passed: 49-0.

Senate Bill 117 (Costa) would amend the Judicial Code to codify the
provisions of law relating to the Juvenile Court Judges' Commission into the
Juvenile Act. The measure would also expand the Commission's jurisdiction
to include dependency cases involving neglected and abused children. The
Juvenile Court Judges Commission Act of 1959 and the sections of the
Administrative Code providing for the juvenile justice grants would be
repealed. The bill clarifies that the new provisions would be a continuation of
the repealed provisions and that any difference in language is intended to
conform to the style of the consolidated statutes. Passed: 48-0.
Senate Bill 986 (Eichelberger) would create the Commonwealth Agency Bonus
Ban Act to ban any Commonwealth agency, including the legislature and the
courts, from paying a bonus to any of its employees. Employees who are paid a
bonus after the effective date of the act would be required to reimburse their
employer for the full amount of the bonus. An individual who intentionally
approves or authorizes a bonus prohibited by the act would commit a third degree
misdemeanor. The provisions of the act would not abrogate any provision of an
existing collective bargaining agreement or employment contract. Passed: 48-0.
Senate Resolution 201 (Fontana) honors the Pittsburgh Steelers and the
Rooney family on their 75th season. Adopted by Voice Vote.
