White Schedules 2nd Public Hearing on Reducing Mercury Emissions

HARRISBURG -- The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, chaired by Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21), on Tuesday will hold the second of two public hearings on how to best craft a state program to reduce mercury emissions.

The hearing will be held Tuesday, May 2 at 9 a.m. in Room 8E-B of the Capitol East Wing.

Coal, business, health and environmental organizations are expected to testify.  Senator White introduced bi-partisan legislation, SB 1201, to reduce mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants.
