White Schedules
2nd Public Hearing on Reducing Mercury Emissions
HARRISBURG -- The
Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, chaired by Sen. Mary Jo
White (R-21), on Tuesday will hold the second of two public hearings on how to
best craft a state program to reduce mercury emissions.
The hearing
will be held Tuesday, May 2 at 9 a.m. in Room 8E-B of the Capitol East Wing.
Coal, business,
health and environmental organizations are expected to testify. Senator White
introduced bi-partisan legislation, SB 1201, to reduce mercury emissions from
coal-fired power plants.
