Senate Republicans to Unveil Legislative Package to Combat Meth
Use
HARRISBURG -- A
group of Republican Senators will join Attorney General Tom Corbett and local
law enforcement officials to unveil a package of bills aimed at stopping the use
and production of the deadly drug methamphetamine.
The news conference will
take place at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 29, in the East Wing media center of
the State Capitol in Harrisburg.
These seven bills, known as
the "Pennsylvania Combat Meth Initiative," will make it more difficult to obtain
the ingredients necessary to make methamphetamine, add new protections for
children and clean up the environmental damage caused by meth labs.
Among those Senators
participating are Senators Bob Robbins (R-Mercer), Bob Regola
(R-Westmoreland), Roger Madigan
(R-Bradford), Rob Wonderling (R-Montgomery), John Gordner
(R-Columbia) and Robert C. Jubelirer (R-Blair).
