Corman Urges Governor to Sign 'Fair Share Act'
HARRISBURG -- Today
Sen. Jake Corman urged Governor Ed Rendell to sign Senate Bill 435, the Fair
Share Act into law.
"It comes to my attention
that the Governor is considering vetoing the Fair Share Act because it does not
contain provisions regarding food purveyor immunity," Corman said. "If the
Governor is truly concerned about protecting the fast food industry in
Pennsylvania, there is currently a bill in the Senate Judiciary Committee that
we can work on together."
"The Fair Share Act is too
important to risk losing the bill to another constitutional challenge on the
single subject rule," said Corman. "Vetoing this bill brings us no closer to
establishing food purveyor immunity. If the Governor is truly interested in
establishing this type of immunity, he should work with the Senate in passing
House Bill 670 and sign the Fair Share Act into law."
