Senate Appropriations Panel to
Hold Hearing
At Millersville University on the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education
The Senate Appropriations Committee, chaired by Senator
Jake Corman (R-34), will hold a hearing at Millersville University in Lancaster
regarding the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).
The hearing will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on
Thursday, November 3, 2011, at the Student Memorial Center, 21 South George
Street in Millersville.
Corman said the hearing will give the Chancellor and
presidents of various PASSHE institutions the opportunity to discuss a range of
topics related to their universities, including the impact of the state budget
on funding decisions.
The committee has held a number of hearings around the
state on issues relating to Pennsylvania's state-related universities.
"The hearings have given us a chance to hear from those
involved in higher education about the challenges they face and how they are
meeting them," Corman said. "It has been a great opportunity to gain input from
our universities and learn more about the important role they play in educating
our students."
