Senate Passes Legislation to Expand
Sales of Reduced-Fee Military Hunting License
HARRISBURG – The Senate approved legislation today that would expand the sale
of reduced-fee hunting licenses for members of the military and National Guard,
according to Senator Richard Alloway II (R-33).
Senate Bill 387, sponsored by Alloway, would allow all Commonwealth hunting
license-issuing agents to sell reduced-fee hunting licenses to members of the
U.S. Armed Forces and Pennsylvania National Guard. Under current law, qualified
members of the military can only receive the $1 hunting licenses through a
county treasurer or the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
"For many members of the military, obtaining a reduced-fee license from the
Game Commission or the County Treasurer can be a time-consuming process,"
Alloway said. "This legislation would make it much easier for our fighting men
and women to take advantage of this special benefit the state provides to the
brave individuals who help keep us safe."
Senate Bill 387 was sent to the House of Representatives for consideration.
